Thank you for your interest in volunteering and getting involved!
Our non-profit grassroots society welcomes enthusiastic members of the community, and from around the world, to join or volunteer with us! We typically meet on the second Wednesday of the month every other month for two hours for our members meeting. We also get together throughout the year for work parties, our annual picnic, or a field trip. Our meetings are fun, educational, and open to everyone. We typically enjoy unique educational presentations, discuss oak issues of importance, plan events and outreach, and much more!
Additionally, we have other fun events throughout the year which include planting oaks on the Island (everyone’s favorite!), conducting community outreach, educating adults and children, going on society-sponsored field trips, and enjoying each others company during picnics and potlucks beneath the mighty oaks.
We are a welcoming group of community members, artists, scientists, educators, foresters, landowners, volunteers, techies – and that’s just scratching the surface of what our members bring to the table! You’re sure to find a spot where your unique interests and skills will shine while making the community and our planet a better place.
