Garry Oak Gallery

We are happy to announce new interpretive signs are now in place at the Native Garden pocket park located at the Oak Harbor Post Office!

There are two signs for you to enjoy. One sign explains the important role native plants play in our landscape and the overall benefit of native plants. The plants highlighted on the sign are those typically found in Oak Harbor’s Garry oak ecosystems. The second sign tells the story in pictures of the former Grand Old Oak throughout its lifecycle.

We hope you take the opportunity to check out the garden, volunteers have worked hard to provide this fun learning experience to our community. There are also many plant ID signs that make the trip worthwhile. After all, it’s Oak Harbor’s only public native plant learning garden!

Special thanks to Island Thrift, City of Oak Harbor Parks Dept., friends, members, and donors of the Oak Harbor Garry Oak Society.
