Taking Flight Among Oak Harbor’s Garry Oaks

A Drone Video by Scott Storer

Garry Oaks video project from Scott Storer on Vimeo.

“This is a project I have compiled over the past year which will be added to over time. The project as a whole was brought up as an idea for getting ideal footage of the native Garry Oaks that grow in the Oak Harbor Washington area as a possibility of providing a better awareness to the local namesake. Proud to be part of this project and always on the lookout for more Oak trees.

I used the Airtrxrs Octocopter and a Tarot 2D gimbal with a GoPro Sessions 4 on all but the final location in the park with the snow on a Tarot T-3D-IV designed specifically for the GoPro Sessions camera, ordered straight from Tarot. The 2D gimbal was frustrating without yaw stability and incorporated a servo and piezo gyro which blended the yaw movements better than without.”

Special thanks to Scott for this.
