OHGOS is doing a donation drive for Garry oak seedlings at the Thursday Oak Harbor Farmer’s Market for the month of August. We are excited to have this opportunity to seek donations, a portion of which will go towards filing fees to achieve our non-profit status. The healthy seedlings we are offering are from locally-gathered acorns and are in half-gallon size pots. As a companion to a published OHGOS Planting Guide, we are giving away chicken wire cages with each seedling (until supplies run out) to help protect vulnerable seedlings from predators and lawn mowers. In addition to the seedling drive, we are using each Thursday for outreach to educate the general public about the importance of Garry oak conservation. Please spread the word, and come to the Thursday Market to offer your support!
