Check out our new page featuring local wood artists. Garry oak wood pieces allow the beautiful grain and natural color of Garry oaks to really shine. We do not, of course, advocated cutting down an oak simply to accomplish a wood working project. All of the examples posted are gleaned via wood from trees downed by storms or disease.

The position of Society Treasurer was filled in January as Alma Clark stepped forward to fill this important role. We now have an official Post Office mailing address and have opened a bank account in our name.
In other exciting news, this past week several members of the OHGOS helped City employees and other citizens to plant Garry oak seedlings as companions to the sturdy saplings already in place at Centennial Grove. May the planting of Garry oaks in Oak Harbor continue!
